Glitter magnets – make your own

Magnet glitter hearts and stars

Hey, how’s your Saturday? The snow is kinda melting round here. A bit sad, but I guess it will make life easier for a lot of peeps, eh?

I had some fun making these magnetic glitter hearts and stars. It’s really easy too!

You will need some glitter, glue, scissors and vinyl magnets.

I had some vinyl magnets printed a few years ago, but I was never that happy with them and whenever I found them in a drawer or wherever I shifted them to I’d think “really gotta do something with these… but what..?” One day it occurred to me to peel off the printed ‘sticker’ and cut out fun shapes. Which was fun, but it still missed that certain something. Glitter! Glitter is the answer to everything!

Anyway, you may be able to find magnetic vinyl sheets at your local craft shop. Or try on eBay. Or maybe you too have some old vinyl magnets knocking about..?

This is what you do: cut out shapes, cover the non-magnetic side with glue and dip it into your glitter to cover it. Leave to dry. And that’s basically it. Go forth and stick glittery magnetic ‘graffiti’ on any magnetic surface!

I put one in our lift but it’s gone already – our caretaker is very thorough! But now it’s the weekend, so I think I’ll go give it another go… Bring glitter to unsuspecting people, I say! ;-)
