Busy week!

Polka & Bloom 2013 calendar sneak peek

Hey! Wow, I’ve had a busy week.. I barely know if I’m comin’ or goin’! Crazy. :-)

Last week I finally got round to finishing my design for the 2013 Polka & Bloom calendar panels. It’s a lot later than I had planned, but I was sorta busy with writing a book and then we went to Denmark etc etc. But with a bit of luck I’ll get them next week. Fingers crossed! There’s a wee sneak peek at the calendar up there.. I love it!

London October 16, 2012

One of the reasons I was more busy than usual is that I went to London on Tuesday. I don’t often go there, but I went for a very very excellent reason and a lovely event. Bonus of going to London mid-week: meeting Tony for lunch! Nando’s have a really nice vegetarian bean burger. And I went to Whole Foods – never been there before, but I’ll definitely be going back because they had lots of vegetarian and vegan foods. Brilliant.

Tomorrow I’ll tell you all about the main reason for going… Not to be secretive or anything, I’m just still sorta processing it… :-)

&Stitches Issue 4 cover

The main reason for being busy this week was the latest issue of &Stitches. It’s out today! It’s all about Scandinavia. Go check out the blog post about it – and find out how you can save a bit on the usual price.

Putting together an issue of &Stitches is both really rewarding – one of my favourite things is it gives me an excuse to contact stitchers I admire, and interview them about stitchy stuff. But putting it together is also a lot of work, people probably don’t realise how much. I think I’ve probably put around 35-40 hours into editing photos, layout and everything else. Stitching a pattern for it!

But all the hard work is worth it because the end result is something to be proud of. That makes me very happy. A couple of long days also make me kinda sleepy so maybe I’ll be having an early night! ;-)
