Knitting attempts

Knitting...
Why yes, that’s me doing a wee bit of knitting. I thought I’d better do a knitted swatch to compare with the crochet ones.. And it looks like there isn’t anything in crochet that looks that much like knitted seed stitch.

So I guess I’m going to have to knit the wrap I mentioned. But before I start on a big project like that, I need to practice seed stitch a bit more. Because although I have no problem with seed stitch itself, not making mistakes is turning out to be a bit of a problem.

All will be well for several rows and then all of a sudden I’ll notice that somehow in the previous row I did two knit or two purl stitches next to each other and that mucks up the following row. Ack! How do you prevent this from happening?

Alas, my knitting skillz are not good enough that I’d be able to knit backwards(?) and redo it or whatever, so suggestions for how to keeping track of the stitches would be very very welcome!

xo, Carina
