Good morning. This post is brought to you by ‘wide awake at 4 in the morning for no good reason despite only having four hours of sleep.’ Oy. You can imagine Tony’s surprise when I got up with him at 5 this morning. ;-)
Anyway, yesterday I thought I’d take a little stock of how many hexies I have made for my DS hexagon quilt. And then I had to take some pictures of course, because those hexies are so pretty.
Pretty, right? I love how well they all play together although they are from different DS collections.
I have around 160 hexies which of course is nowhere near enough for a quilt, so I guess I’ll be hexy-ing along for the foreseeable future. Not that I mind.
I am nowhere near ready to start putting it together, but I am thinking about it. Last year, when I had only just started this project, I thought I might do hexagon flowers like this and put those together. But I think I’ve scrapped that idea.
I want something that feels more random. Maybe I’ll pick a handful of the fabrics to use as flower centres, but have all the ‘petals’ be different.
Well, that decision is a out in the future somewhere…
