Happy Autumn Equinox!

It doesn’t seem like Midsummer was that long ago and here we are at the Autumn Equinox. I like the cooler weather of autumn but I’d like to keep the lighter evenings. At least there is only six months until they return. The wheel keeps turning. :-)

In the embroidery for the latest festival in the Wheel of The Year I decided to add a 3D element to the acorns. I loved stitching those. (Like I knew I would.) One of my favourite things about embroidery has always been how tactile it is. Running your hand over a densely stitched piece of fabric is just the best. So adding more 3D textures is a lot of fun. Maybe something to consider experimenting with more…

I often walk past an apple tree when I walk Blake and it is a nice marker of the seasons. Leaves, then blossoms and then the growing apples. And then apples fallen on the ground and providing food for various critters.

There is just one festival left in the Wheel of The Year stitchalong but you can still join in. It’s very much a stitch at your own pace stitchalong. I haven’t yet decided if the pattern/s will be available once the stitchalong has ended…
