Accidental Advent Calendar

Over head view of embroidery hoop with white fabric. On the fabric is drawn a geometric design in a circle. Two of the sections are filled with stitches.

I didn’t mean to do it, but then I got this idea to do a stitch sampler advent calendar, so that’s what I’m doing! :-)

The design is inspired by Passacaglia English paper piecing quilts. I’d love to make one of those but I don’t have the time/patience so I’ll make do with an embroidery inspired by them in stead…

I haven’t decided beforehand which stitches I will include in the sampler. I think it will very much be influenced by how much time I have to work on the sampler each day. Familiar, quick stitches on some days. More complicated, and maybe new-to-me, stitches on other days. No pressure, I want this to be a fun, hyggeligt project. :-)

If you would like a wee project for December, sign up for my newsletter. Until Christmas I am sharing four (free) embroidery motifs. Like these two:

Over head view of embroidery hoop with white fabric. On the fabric is drawn two circles with flower and star motifs. One circle motif is partially stitched with dark pink thread.

The partially stitched one is the first one. The second motif is shared in today’s newsletter (December 2nd).
