Happy Winter Solstice!

Photo of a square textile book. The cover is a print with green background, large green leaves and large white flowers. The book has a pink button and elastic closure. In the centre of the front there is a lime green rectangle with the text Wheel of The Year 2025.

As the label says, this is my finished Wheel of The Year textile book for 2025. I bought the fabric on the cover at the start of the year, thinking that I would use it for this project. And it is just the right thing for the cover, I really like it. :-)

I did the writing on the sewing machine, just free motion stitching it. I like that it’s a bit wonky. From a distance it makes it look like it is hand written.

the page is light yellow with a design of daffodils and the word Beltane in pink in the centre.

Beltane. I love daffodils and I knew that I wanted to include it in this book. It may be an annoying weed to some but I love their cheerful yellow colour. And they are one of the first flowers that can give sustenance to insects.

If you would like to see all the pages in the book, I go through it towards the end of this video. :-)

Samhain. Another thing I love: oak leaves.

And then there is Yule! That’s today! The Winter Solstice. Now the year is turning towards lighter days again. :-)
