I was going to say that I’m ashamed of the state of this temperature embroidery, but actually I’m not. Sometimes life happens and things that are not important in the grand scheme of things get pushed to one side. Such as this embroidery.
You may recognise it as one of my temperature embroideries. This is the 2024 embroidery. Yes, 2024. :-D
Over the past couple of weeks I have slowly been adding to it. Because I do want to finish it! And once I finish it I am going to start the 2025 version. And after that, the 2026 version.
I started doing this particular version of a temperature embroidery in 2022. Once I finish 2026 that will be five years. I think I’ll keep going after that. I have a vague idea of this project stretching over 10 years as a visual record of the (change in?) temperatures.
Once I get properly back into the rhythm of stitching this, getting the momentum going, I think it will be fairly quick to catch up. Well, I’m not going to promise myself too much! :-)

I have reached the middle of May 2024. I haven’t looked ahead at the temperatures but I think that solitary orange stitch is a hint at things to come…
You’d maybe think that doing the same stitch over and over again would be boring but I actually really enjoy it. The stitch is called Rhodes stitch. In case you were wondering.
By the way, if you are interested in making your own temperature embroidery/project, I wrote an ebook about that. You can check it out here.
