A Quick Kitchen Project

Interior photo of bottom kitchen cupboards in a sort of beige colour. Metal holders are clipped over the top of two of the cupboard doors. One holder has a tea towel in white and green colours, the other has a white hand towel with black and green squares.

A not very colourful, but very satisfying project I made the other day. I have been wanting new hand towels for the kitchen for a while because the old ones were looking a bit grubby. To be honest, some of the tea towels could do with a replacement….

As you can see, the holder for the hand towel is quite narrow and I haven’t found towels that would fit. The old ones just about fit when we folded them double.

But then it occurred to me: I have a bunch of ribbon and a sewing machine and I’m not afraid to use either! I think you can guess what I did?!

Yes, we bought a pair of hand towels which I cut in half lengthwise and hemmed the cut edges with ribbon. Problem solved. I am very satisfied with this little project. :-)
