Happy Beltane!

Slightly belated Beltane greetings. It has been a bit busy here recently so I didn’t manage to finish these in time. One of the things that kept me/us busy was my birthday! Both my parents and my sister and her family came to visit. So lovely. I think I’ll share some of the birthday shenanigans in a different blog post…

I am very happy with how these two turned out. And I am really enjoying stitching on the Essex Linen fabric. It wasn’t my plan to stitch all the Wheel of The Year designs on Essex Linen but I am enjoying it so much, and it will help make the embroideries look like they belong together, so I think I will use it for all 16 embroideries.

The next pair will mark the Summer Solstice, and the midway point of the Wheel stitchalong. There is still time to join this very laidback stitchalong. There is no set time to finish the individual embroideries, and you don’t have to use them for a particular project. Check out the details here.

The Essex Linen is great but it does present some challenges, especially when stitching curves like in these flowers. But challenges are good! That’s how you learn stuff! :-)

Here’s a reminder of what the previous set, for Ostara, looks like:
