Log Cabin Improv

Outdoor photo of three patchwork samples on a washing line. The blocks in the samples are all made from concentric fabric strips around a centre square. The left section, in yellow, pink, and white, is put together with the square blocks on point. The two smaller samples are in a regular grid. The bottom one is in pink and green colours. The right sample is in orange, purple, and turquoise colours.

Some log cabin samples I have been working on since we came back from Denmark.

I don’t know what it is about log cabin blocks that I just love so much. Maybe it is the endless variety? Or the fact that they are the perfect way to use scraps?

Although, to be honest, these were mostly not made from scraps because I have pretty much got to the bottom of my scrap box. Which is an unheard of thing for a quilter to say! :-D

I already have a couple of colours ready for the next log cabin improv sample. This time in blue and red. I can’t wait to see how that turns out. :-)
