Inkscape pattern repeat tutorial

Alright! My mum is in England, huzzah! I spent a nice day with her and her friend. And now I’m feeling kinda fried, because that is what London does to me! ;-)

Anyway, I digress…

I made a tutorial for making a pattern repeat for using on Spoonflower and similar sites. Or for other occasions that require a repeating pattern/tile. Like your blog background!

The tutorial is for Inkscape – a vector drawing program like Illustrator, but without the crazy price tag! The tutorial might also be useful for Illustrator users. However, it’s been a couple of years since I last used Illustrator so some of the details of how it works are a bit hazy..

Anyway. The tutorial. I’ve gone all fancy pants and uploaded it to Issuu. You can find it here. If you like it, I’d appreciate it if you’d rate it over there.

You can also find the tutorial in my Bigcartel shop where you can buy it to download (well, I’ll email it to you), just in case you feel like supporting my work in a tiny way. :-) With the pay-for version I’ll also send you my original Inkscape file for you to play around with. But you can’t use itfor anything else. No uploading it to Spoonflower or as a blog background. M’kay?

Finally, you can have a look at the pattern over on Spoonflower. :-)

Ok, that’s it from me… early night, methinks!

So pleased your Mum made it! I heard they were shutting the airports yesterday and was a bit worried for you.
