Maybroidery – a month of daily stitching – day 1

I’ve set myself a challenge! Every day in May I’m going to do a small finished embroidery. I often put off doing embroidery for me, just for fun because my ideas usually require more time/effort than I have to spare. So I figure, small stitcheries, that can be finished in an hour or so, that must be the key to actually getting some fun embroidery done.

So I declare this month Maybroidery month! I have no plans for what I’m going to stitch and no plans for what I might use the stitcheries for. And that is ok! I’m just going to enjoy playing with needle and thread.

I’m quite looking forward to it. Even if it may be a bit of a struggle at times – life does have a habit of interfering with the best laid plans etc… ;-) So I have given myself a bit of flexibility, but the goal is to finish atleast 25 stitcheries this month.

Join me if you like! I won’t post here on the blog every day – it might get a bit much. ;-) But I will post all #maybroidery stitcheries on Instagram, so you’re more than welcome to keep up with it there (I’m polkaandbloom). The Instagram shots will also be uploaded to Flickr.

This is the embroidery I did today. It’s a wee bunny fellow that I drew last year but never got round to stitching. I thought it would be a good one to start the month. It took around an hour, so bang on my target. :-)
