Friday Links:: RA, Monopoly, Massive Fox

Just a few links this week. I’m not sure where this past week has gone. Must still be in the Covid lockdown wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey time… I hope you have a good weekend, friends! x Carina

A House Through Time book. Like many others I’ve been fascinated with the TV series hosted by David Olusoga. The book is very interesting too, although it wasn’t quite what I thought it was going to be (should have read the description a bit closer!) A fascinating different way of looking at the history of (mainly) England, through the lens of houses/homes through the ages.

The Royal Academy of Arts in London is now on Google Streetview!

Merriam-Webster is looking at ‘Bothsidesing‘.

Britain’s Forgotten Slave Owners on BBC iPlayer.

This chap spent a day taking pictures in locked down London, using the Monopoly addresses.

African American History: From Emancipation to the Present. Free course from Yale University. {via}

A Massive Fox Towers Over Rotterdam.

Back in Time for Brixton on BBC iPlayer. “Documentary following a family who give up their modern lives for one summer to experience what life was like for Caribbeans who immigrated to Britain in the postwar period.” Interesting programme, shame it is only two episodes.
