Favourite Thing :: Colouring Patterns

Ok, I know this may be a weird favourite thing, but it really is. There are lots of steps involved when making a pattern, drawing it, taking photos (oh yeah, and stitching it.)

But one thing I really love is when it’s all drawn up on the computer, in black and white, and then I make a copy and add the colours to it. Because all my patterns have both a black & white version and a coloured in version so you can see which colours I have used.

And the colouring in, I love it. It’s like seeing a photo develop, the pattern really comes to life when the colours are added.

Yes, I admit it. I am a bit weird. ;-)

By the way, the screenshot up there is of one of the motifs in the Mini Embellishment Club. The club has ended but you can still get your hands on the motifs and the three project tutorials. Because I made some motif variations so some of the motifs would fit in 1″ hexies, there are actually over 30 mini motifs – and all for just £8.00. But not for long. From August 1 the price will be £10.
