Too early for mittens??

Probably. But I just felt like having at go at making these mittens, so here they are! Plus, then I have mittens when it gets cold. If it gets cold enough for mittens here in England anyway. ;-)

I’ve had the pattern a long, long time. My sister gave it to me, dunno where she got it from. Maybe she made it herself…

Ok, despite the apperance of the photo, I do not have two left hands; the top one is just turned inside out to show the, well, inside.

The outside is made from one of my old shirts. I haven’t worn it in a long time, but I just couldn’t throw/give it away, that orange colour is just so delicious! The inside is made from an old dressing gown that used to belong to my grandma. My sister and I used to wear it when we dressed up as god-only-knows what.

So there are a few reasons that I *heart* these mittens: I made them myself, the fabric is recycled, and the fabric has a history. Not a bad way to start the weekend, I tell ya!
