Bonjour! This is my new pattern: Paris Spring. I’ve been in love with the idea of this particular pattern ever since I made a teeny tiny sketch of it (less than an inch wide!) over two months ago. I’m really happy with it. Even the colour purple! Which isn’t one that I normally gravitate towards when selecting colours. :-)
The pattern is inspired by those old Parisian Art Nouveau metro signs, I love those! And of course there’s le Tour Eiffel. It’s obviously not a realistic tower.. but would just be boring, non?
I’ve included two versions in the pattern, the one I’ve stitched and one which doesn’t have a single heart. You know, if you feel like something less romantic. :-) And I also made stripped down versions of the towers without any leaves and flowers etc. And there’s also a few extra motifs as well as a flurry of hearts.
I’m already thinking of other city icons to transmogrif into patterns.. stay tuned. :-)
PS. Paris Spring is part of the 2013 pattern subscription! If you’re subscribed already, check your inbox you should have received the patterns on Monday! (If you don’t see it, please check your spam/junk filter)
I arrived here from Chrissie Crafts and am so totally inspired by your amazing designs – am very new to embroidery but am loving it. Looking forward to reading through your blogs :-) x x
