I visited the Fashion & Textile Museum in London on Friday, to see the Weavers of the Clouds: Textile Arts of Peru exhibition. It was pretty amazing! So full of embroidery and colours! If you are interested in textiles and/or folk art, do check it out if you have the chance. It’s on ’til September 8th.

Quite a few of the outfits included one of these large tupu pins. I am fascinated by them. Some were really elaborate, and others were a bit more plain. Most of them were sort of spoon shaped.

A contemporary fashion designer’s skirt inspired by the colours and patterns. So colourful!

On Friday I also went to the British Museum to see the Love and Angst exhibition of Edvard Munch’s work, focusing on his prints. It was a very interesting exhibition. I was already familiar with Munch’s work, I’ve studied it a bit and seen it at the Munch Museum in Oslo. But usually the focus is on the paintings. It was really interesting to see the prints, a lot of which are slightly different versions of the familiar paintings.
Again, it’s well worth checking out. But be quick, the exhibition ends on July 21st!

I really like this print.
